History + Mission
dogathon ™ - was started in 2008 destined to be the hippest dog social + charitable festival set in the heart of the Downtown Scottsdale Arizona. A weekend destination event where dogs locally + nationally will gather and participate in charitable + social events. A non-traditional competition as it is geared so all dogs could be included in some aspect of the festivities. dogathon [TM] has its trademark Charity Parade [TM] that is the center of the event where people walk in the parade in different categories for charity.

I am very excited about our third annual dogathon [TM]. This year we have moved to our permanent time of the year of first Saturday in MARCH. There are many reasons for this including the weather has been too hot in November. Due to the the NEW Soleri Bridge & Plaza at our location, I felt it was a perfect opportunity to change the time of year as bridge construction stopped us from having the dogathon [TM] in Nov 2010 and then getting bumped from city in March 2011. Great things come out of change as March fits more into my long term goal of the dogathon [TM] being a destination event.

In our third year I have decided to commit to one national charity for the dogathon [TM]. Our main objective is to have people visit our great city of Scottsdale Arizona and because our mission is to have this a destination event, I has chosen the ASPCA [The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals]. We will be offering FREE space to local DOG NON-PROFITS so they have the ability to raise awareness to local causes.
