The goal: The adoption portion of the dogathon™ is to find 50 + dogs a happy home + increase rescue awareness. Our unique way to do this is by having all the dogs in our parade as a preview for the following day of adoption. How this works: Nov 1st: dogathon™ will be having a charity parade™in the center of Scottsdale at Southbridge + The Waterfront. In that parade there will be different sections of people walking for charity & a “adoption section” where the 50 + dogs will walk with a number on them [1-50 +]. Viewers will write down the numbers of the dogs they prefer and wish to adopt. Nov 2nd: People come back to the same location for the events /competition portion of the dogathon™. On this second day there will be a dog adoption grotto - where people can adopt the dogs they saw from the previous day

To make it fair to everyone we will have a booth [away from adoption grotto] in the sponsor area with volunteers to give out materials on adoption and to give out numbers. The numbers will be used to set priority among adopters. Patrons will ONLY be able to get a number starting at 11 am on DAY 2. This way there will be no fighting for a dog & to make sure it is a positive experience for all who attend.

HOW DO I ADOPT?

1) Download & fill out the questionnaire to see if a dog is right in your life. click here
2) Come to the charity parade™ on Nov 1st in Scottsdale.
3) Stop by Adoption booth for TICKET & collect adoption rules + guidelines
4) View all dogs in the parade and write down numbers of dogs of interest.
3) Take your numbers home and view adoption guidelines from dogs chosen*
4) Come back to Southbridge +The Waterfront for Day 2 EVENTS portion of the dogathon™
5) Exchange TICKET for a NUMBER [Booth open from 11am - 4pm]
6) Adoption STARTS at NOON Nov 2nd
7) Adoption priority by NUMBERS
8) Have your questionnaire filled out so they can find a dog that suites your lifestyle.
9) Follow the adoption procedure of agency from dog you have chosen.
10) You saved a life!
